We have been having an absolute blast in our new home at The Riot Theater! Our show has been packed every week, and the crowds have been generous with their laughter and with their stories of terrible exes. We heard stories about cheating exes, exes with their own youtube channels, and exes with names we still aren't sure how to spell. (Filly San? Phillysan? Felician?)
We've had amazingly talented groups from all over Boston come out to perform for us. They've had fantastic shows that have showcased the breadth and variety of Boston's talent. We at Naffy love giving them a house to perform in, so let's give it up one more time for ImprovJones, Summer Boyfriend, Shuffle Ball Change, Maxitor, The Conor Allen Special, The Gorge, Perfectly Stupid and Aeropuerto! You guys are all hilarious.
We've also tried some stuff that didn't work. We didn't get into the Hartford Improv Festival. We had our first attempt at holding an Introduction to Improv Class that no one signed up for. We've had blizzards, cold weather dates, and we've had sets orchestrated by live music from Jeannie Johnston's.
But for every setback, we've had startling surprising success. We've been featured in BU Today, Boston.com, and a new publication that we'll be able to unveil in March. We just found out we'll be performing at the PIT festival in NYC. We've started this kickass website, that has had a strong response and we've had the amazing opportunity to do this show every single week since the new year started. We love to take lesson from those folks who came out and filled our house in the middle of a blizzard and when it was below zero outside. They kept coming and so will we. We've had our run extended through May by the wonderful Director of the Riot, Joe Gels and we keep planning to bring the best longform comedy in Boston every single week. We could not be more excited to see what huge successes and setbacks we get to encounter. Thank you J.P. for letting us be so weird. 2016 is the Year of Naffy, and on that note, here is our upcoming March schedule:
3/4- Summer Boyfriend
3/11- The Gorge
3/18- Midy Zevlin
3/25- 20 Minute Movie
